Abstract

276,570. White, A. E., (Passman, P. C. C.). Feb. 18, 1927. Thermometers. - A thermometer, particularly for measuring the temperature of the cooling water in an internalcombustion engine comprises a bulb 3 which is inserted in a hole 2 in the water conduit 1, the hole being sealed by an expansible plug 4 of rubber &c. The bulb is formed with a threaded portion 5 of reduced diameter, forming a shoulder 6 at its junction with the main part of the bulb. The plug 4 is compressed between this shoulder and a nut 7 engaging the threaded part 5. The nut has an extension 10 protecting the capillary tube 11 which connects the bulb 3 to an indicator.
