Abstract

276,127. Mahon, R. F. H. Hartland-. July 29, 1926. Drawer-and-shell boxes; contents, delivering.- In a box for cigarettes and the like of the kind wherein means are provided for ejecting the cigarettes when the box is opened, the ejector comprises a tray-like member having a projecting ledge which projects only so far to actuate one row or tier of the cigarettes. In one form the box is of the drawer-and-shell type and the ejector is moved by means of a cord 3 which is secured at one end to the shell 4 and at the other end to the ejector 2. To facilitate replacing the ejector in the box another cord also attached to the ejector and shell may be provided. In a modification, Fig. 7, wherein the shell is closed at one end, the ejector 2 is formed integrally with the closure flap 1 of the box. The cigarettes may be wrapped in paper or foil within the box.
