Abstract

276,021. International General Electric Co., Inc., (Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts Ges.). Aug. 14, 1926, [Convention date]. Filter circuits. - To reduce the interference on telephone and telegraph circuits due to alternating currents present in a rectifier-fed power distribution line a rejector circuit L, C in series with a choke L1 is inserted in the power line. The rejector circuit is tuned to a frequency between two harmonics occurring in the power line, preferably those frequencies which cause the greatest interference. The inductance L may be part of a choke coil, the remaining winding representing the choke L1 and may be provided with an iron core. Further rejector circuits may be inserted in the line if numerous interfering harmonics occur. Formulµ and numerical data are given in the Specification showing how the proportion of inductance to capacity of the rejector circuit and the ratio of its impedance to that of the choke may be determined.
