Abstract
275,331. Thornton, J. E. May 5, 1926. Colour kinematography. - Relates to films of the kind described in Specifications 272,986, and 273,056 which are built up by cementing together back-to-back two component films, each carrying a colour record image in coloured colloid relief produced in a ready coloured sensitive layer, and each having picture margins carrying printed colloid of full thickness. The invention consists mainly in cementing the two component films together after printing but before developing, so that the films will receive identical treatment in the developing &c. baths. The component images may be printed on two single-width strips, or side-by-side upon a double-width strip subsequently slit before cementing, as in Specifications 213,647, and 213,934, [Class 98 (ii), Photographic processes &c.,], from single-width or doublewidth negatives or printing clichÚs. Cementing is effected either as in Specifications 272,986 and 273,056, or by applying a solvent such as acetone or methyl alcohol to the back of each film before pressing together. The films are of standard width, so that no trimming is necessary after cementing.
