Abstract

275,327. Berner, C. A. O. May 4, 1926. Buoyant ropes. - Hemp, manilla, and like ropes are rendered floatable by incorporating therein a floatable waterproof material such as paraffin wax in such manner as to imprison air within the rope. The individual yarns, fibres, or strands forming the rope are preferably treated with the wax &c., heating means being provided to prevent the setting of the wax before the twisting operation has been effected. Specifications 5022/90 and 167,952 are referred to.
