Abstract

275,100. M³ller, A. Feb. 16, 1927. Crushers with vibrating jaws. - In a stonecrusher with a fixed jaw and a movable jaw driven by an eccentric and fast with a rearward extension serving as the eccentric rod, the movable jaw is hung on pivots which are horizontally displaceable in slideways. The eccentric rod which transmits the drive of the eccentric to the movable jaw is adjustable for altering the width of the throat of the crusher. As shown, Figs. 1 and 2, the carrier 10 of the movable jaw 9 is pivotally mounted on a shaft 11, the ends of which are provided with slippers 12 which slide in horizontal guides 13 on the upper rails 2 of the machine, and at the rear is formed as a tube 15 slit on top and provided with an internal thread. The tail end 17 of the eccentric rod is mounted on the eccentrics 16 on the driving- shaft 7, and its front end is formed as a slit tube with an internal thread of opposite hand to that in the tube 15. An adjusting-bolt 18 has oppositely-screwed parts engaging with the tubes 15, 17, and a smooth central part with holes for the insertion of a tommy bar. Screws 20 are provided for clamping the slit tubular nut parts so as to lock the parts in the adjusted position. In a modification, Fig. 3, the movable jaw 32 bears against a wedge 31 which can be displaced by a spindle d and against which it can be firmly drawn by a second spindle h. The carrier 30 of the jaw 32 has a supporting shaft 33 the journals a of which laterally protruding from the frame are furnished with bushes b constructed as slippers to slide in guides c on the lower rails 21 of the machine. A curved rib 34 on the rear of the carrier 30 bears against the wedge 31 and carries at the top a bolt f engaged by a hook 35 of a bolt 36 secured in the eccentric rod g. When the wedge 31 is displaced, the frame 30 swings about the journals a and the rocker g is angularly displaced, the jaw 32 being secured in the adjusted position by means of the spindle h actuating the chain m connected to the jaw 32. The two spindles d, h may be interconnected. The wedge 31 is weakened by holes so that it will break in the event of pressure above the normal beng exerted on the crushing-jaws. The machine is provided with supporting-feet 24, 25, and the fly-wheels 28 serve as road wheels, a roller 38 being provided in front. In another arrangement, Fig. 4, the carrier 50 of the movable jaw 51 is adjustably mounted on the eccentric rod 49, which is suspended from a transverse shaft 52 journaled in lateral slippers 53 that slide on the upper surfaces of the upper rails 41 and are guided by overhanging plates 54. A hollow wedge 55 between the rod 49 and the carrier 50 is adjustable by means of a screwed spindle 58 engaging a pivoted nut 56 in the wedge, a ball joint 60 allowing angular displacement of the spindle and preventing axial movement. The plate 50 is provided with two flanges 61 which rest on top of the rod 49 and have slots for the passage of clamping bolts; on slackening these bolts, the wedge 55 can be adjusted and the plate 50 set to conform to the new position of the wedge. The top of the rod 49 on each side of the bearing 64 for the spindle 58 is formed to provide a laterally undercut guide beneath which the flanges 61 can be inserted from the front.
