Abstract
275,066. Pinder, E. Dec. 9, 1926. Riding saddles. - The near side and leaping heads of a side saddle are adapted to yield to abnormal pressure and fold down flatly against the saddle, in order to diminish the danger in the event of the horse falling and rolling upon its rider. The mounting for each head consists of a metal boss d with screw-threaded holes e to receive a ribbed stud h on which the forked part of the head f is pivoted. A leaf spring i, secured to the head, bears on the stud h and holds it either in the upright position or the depressed position. The holes e, not in use, may be closed by plugs.
