168,803. Oates, S. B. Oct. 21, 1920. Saddles and seats.-In protective covering - devices for horse, cycle, omnibus, &c. saddles or seats, of the kind wherein waterproof material 23 is carried by a spring roller 13 mounted within a casing 10, the free end of the material is provided with a pocket 25 to engage with the peak of the saddle or front of the seat when the cover is extended, and a stop 27 is fitted upon the underside of the material to prevent the cover from being drawn completely into the casing. An annular end-piece 20 upon the roller is connected by a spring 19 to a fixed pin 17, the other end of the roller having a stud 14 rotatably mounted in a bearing 15 upon the cap 11.
