Abstract

274,618. Panzetta, H., and Warwick, H. June 14, 1926. Mud-guards.-The outer side edge of a vehicle mud-guard is provided with a protective strip of indiarubber so formed with a bead or the like, or so stiffened as by a deformable insertion of canvas, metal, &c., as to engage a recess or a bead respectively, formed on the edge of the guard. In the forms shown in Figs. 2 and 6, the strip 1 is beaded at 2 to engage a groove formed in the edge of the guard 3, the edge of which may be turned inwardly as at 6, Fig. 6. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the strip is provided with an insertion 4 of lead, copper, or other metal so that it can be bent over the beaded edge 5 of the guard 3.
