Abstract

273,910. Thompson, H. G., and Brehmer Folding Box Co., Ltd. July 23, 1926. Specially-shaped folding boxes; fittings, internal. - A box, particularly adapted for carrying loud speakers and other acoustic horns is made of triangular cross-section, each side having a closing flap at each end and one side and its flaps being longitudinally-creased so that the box may be collapsed, the box being also fitted with an internal sliding tray having means for securing the instrument thereon and with a depending flange which seats upon a side of the box. As shown the tray 15 is provided with tongues 18 having felt pads 19 which engage the mouth of the horn and a loop 20 of cardboard having a hole 22 engages the diaphragm end of the instrument and holds it firmly; the loop is creased along its points of attachment to the tray so that it can be folded flat against it. Flanges 16 at the sides of the tray form a flexible seating against the creased side of the box. The loop may be conical or trumpet-shaped and may have a hinged flap 26 which can be turned to engage and secure the leg or base of the instrument.
