An interlocking device for preventing the connection or disconnection of the two portions of a bayonet-slot coupling in a lamp holder &c. when a switch associated with the coupling is closed, comprises metal shutters 13 adapted to be moved into the vertical portions 14 of the bayonet slots bv the rotation of the switch contactcarrying drum k. The drum k which is rotated by a handle 7 carries bridging contacts y, z and is formed with a barrier 8 which, when the drum is rotated into the position shown, presses down, against the action of a spring, a cross-bar 12 carrying the shutters 13. Good contact between the contacts y, z and the contacts above and below them is ensured by a spring c.
