Abstract

Clutches, friction.-In dyeing apparatus wherein rollers are driven from a bevel-wheel shaft, the bevel wheels 5 on the rollers 1 can be clutched to the rollers by plate clutches operable from the other side of the machine. The clutch comprises fixed and axially sliding collar 11, 13 rotating with the roller, between which the bevel wheel can be gripped, the sliding collar 13 being actuated by a screwed rod 14 axially mounted in the roller shaft 12 and having a threaded hand wheel 16 at the other end of the shaft.
