Abstract
272,747. Soc. de Paris et du Rhone. July 8, 1926, [Convention date]. Addition to 262,064. Starting prime movers. - In electric arrangements according to the parent Specification the connection of the shunt field of the dynamotor, at starting, to the full battery voltage is effected by a modification of the usual cut-in switch, by a separate relay, by a centrifugal switch or by hand. In electromagnetic forms the actuating coil or coils may be subject to the voltage of the dynamotor or the battery, or the difference between these, or to the shunt field current, alone or two or more in combination. In the arrangement in the Figure the cut-in switch 5 makes the connection shown when the engine is idle. After closing the starting switch to the coil of switch 5 eventually operates to disconnect the field 2 and reconnect it by contact arm 15 to the third brush 3, the contact arm 14 closing the charging circuit simultaneously or later. The arm 15 may make the field connection before that of arm 14 is broken.
