Abstract

271,950. Wright, G. M. March 4, 1926. Transformers.-Relates to thermionic amplifiers of the filter type employing oscillatory circuits of low damping comprising transformers, and consists in making the primary and secondary windings of the same equivalent number of turns per unit length and arranging that points which are to be at anchored potential lie substantially in a diametrical plane perpendicular to the axis of the windings. In the arrangement shown, the primary winding 4 is connected to the grid and plate of the input valve through an antireaction condenser 7, the secondary winding 5 being shunted by a variable condenser 8 and connected to the grid of the output valve. The mid points 9 which are of anchored potential, being connected respectively to the anode battery 6 of the input valve and to the cathode of the output valve, are arranged in a diametrical plane perpendicular to the axis of the windings.
