Abstract
271,577. Mathieu, G. A. Feb. 27, 1926. Coupling aerial and detector or oscillator circuits. - Signals received on a number of spaced aerials A are combined vectorially by means of feeders W1, W2, W3 and collected in a final circuit Z, which may form the input to a receiving set. Autotransformers T1, the mid point being earthed, are arranged to match the aerial inpedance with that of the feeder W1. whilst in order to add the voltages vectorially the leads of one pair are crossed over as shown. The energy is transformed to twin secondaries of the transformer T2 comprising series condensers C to counteract inductive reactance. By adjusting the ratio of transformation, maximum transferrence of energy is ensured and the whole system is balanced. From the feeders W2 the energy is similarly transferred through a second twin transformer T3 to the final " tank " circuit Z. The system is analyzed in the Specification and shown to be equivalent to a balanced three-wire system with the neutral wire removed. It may equally be applied to the energizing of transmitting aerials.
