271,296. Apthorpe, W. H., and Cambridge Instrument Co., Ltd. Aug. 12, 1926. Thermometers.-The resistance element for an electric resistance thermometer is prepared by drawing a bare or covered wire, such as silkcovered nickel wire, into an absorbent insulating sleeve, such as silk or cotton sleeving, which is then dried and impregnated with oil. The combination thus produced is then passed through a lead press so as to become covered with lead by extrusion.
