Abstract

270,805. Croxon, W. C. Feb. 12, 1926. Steam superheater furnaces.-The steam supplied to steam-heated laundry &c. appliances is superheated in apparatus comprising a main casing 1 lined with fireclay and heated by a gas or other burner 7, and a, subsidiary heater 4 supported by flues 3 extending vertically from the casing 1. The steam piping consists of straight pipes 5 within the casing connected together by return bends 6 and a pipe 9 centrally arranged within the subsidiary heater, connected to the piping 5 by a pipe 10. Steam may be preheated in the subsidiary heater before passing to the main heater or may flow through the apparatus in the opposite direction.
