Flooring slabs; compound slabs.- Parquetry slabs consist of a number of wood sections 4 arranged in one or more layers secured together and to a base of resilient fibrous material 5 such as artificial lumber formed from bagasse. The slabs are nailed to a wooden floor or cemented to a concrete floor, and the edges may be flush or offset. The grain of the wooden layers may be crossed, and the base may consist of two layers of fibrous material stapled or cemented together.
