Abstract
268,363. Soc. of Chemical Industry in Basle. March 24, 1926, [Convention date]. Cellulose esters, processes for making filaments from.-The dyeing properties of cellulose acetate threads &c. are improved by adding to the spinning solution a proportion, for example 5-20 per cent, of nitrocellulose, and subsequently subjecting the spun or formed threads &c. to an energetic denitration treatment comprising the use of a solution of soluble hydrosulphide of at least 8 per cent strength and a temperature above 50 C. In an example, the threads are treated with 10-12 per cent alkali or alkaline earth hydrosulphide solution at 65 C. The denitrated products show an excellent affinity for acid, basic, mordantdyeing, direct-dyeing, and vat dyestuffs, including sulphur dyes.
