Abstract
267,524. Cohen, R. R. March 11, 1926, [Convention date]. Lamps, rotating supports for.-A rotating member 3 mounted on the shaft 4 of a motor is located in front of a stationary advertisement panel 1. The member 3 carries an electric discharge lamp 2, or a number of incandescent lamps, connected by contact rings or half-rings 11 and brushes 10 to a source of electricity, an induction coil in the base 7 providing a highpressure current for the lamp 2. An automatic switch intermittently lights the rotating lamp 2, and when the lamp is illuminated the advertisement on the panel 1 is obscured. When the lamp is extinguished the panel 1 is visible, either by reason of the member being transparent or by making it of small dimensions. When a number of incandescent. lamps are mounted on the member 3, they may be of different colours, and groups thereof may be controlled by a supplementary switch to vary the colour effect. A rheostat or a switch may be provided to vary the speed of the motor, which is located behind the panel 1.
