Abstract

266,394. Pring, H. W. B. Aug. 22, 1925. Surface signs.-An illuminated or luminous line or sign on the road surface, for traffic guidance, is formed by transparent blocks A placed end to end in a channel in the road, each block having a hole B throughout its length to receive the lighting means F. In the form shown, glass blocks rest on a cushion D of resilient reflecting material, such as white rubber, and similar material forms a reflecting cushion C between the blocks. The pad C is reduced at the centre to carry electric vacuum tubes F. The hole B in the block may be filled with a luminous chemical compound.
