Abstract

266,219. Owen, L. C., and Pratt, Owen, & Co., Ltd. Aug. 20, 1926. Pumping machines and fan apparatus.-The fan and motor casings of a portable vacuum cleaner comprise two substantially equal cylindrical shells 1, 2 mounted on opposite sides of a partition member 3, the motor being mounted on this member and housed between lugs or plates 4 thereon, while its spindle projects through the partition and carries the fan. The ends of the casings may be conically dished. The partition may be cast from aluminium. A small fan 10 is mounted on the spindle end to cool the motor by drawing air through perforations 12, 12a. The fan casing is fitted with an outlet 15 to a dust bag. A shoulder strap 18 and sad-iron type of handle 19 are provided.
