Control systems.-Relates to switching apparatus driven by electric motors for use in automatic power stations and substations, in which the motors are put into circuit by thermal relays, contact-making measuring instruments, and devices in which the contact making is uncertain or unreliable. The contacts of such a device b are arranged to be shunted by a switch d driven by the motor a<1> immediately after the latter has been started by the device b. The switch d comprises a conducting disc with an insulating piece e in its periphery. In the arrangement shown, the motor a<1> drives a switch h and another switch m which after a time interval closes the circuit to another switch-operating motor a<2>, which is also, in accordance with the invention, provided with a short-circuiting disc d<1>.
