Abstract
362,893. Control of A.C. motors. ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIQUES DE CHARLEROI, 91, Rue de l' Enseignement, Brussels. June 6, 1930, No. 17584. Convention date, June 10, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 38 (iii).] The starter comprises two electromagnetic contactors 1, 2, the first closes as a result of closing a pushbutton 5 and connects the motor M to the line and maintains itself over a normally closed stop pushbutton 6. The motor windings are connected in star over contacts of contactor 2 when this is deenergized. Contacts 3 are closed a time interval after contactor 1 has closed, a clockwork retarding device described in Specification 352,447 may be used for this purpose, and cause contactor 2 to change over the motor connections from star tc delta. The pushbuttons may be replaced by a simple " on " and " off " switch, the contactor 2 may be arranged with five movable and three fixed or three movable and five or six fixed contacts The coil of contactor 1 affords no-volt protection, and fuses F may be arranged so that they are in circuit for both star and delta connections or only for delta connections.
