Abstract
264,425. Linotype & Machinery, Ltd., (Mergenthaler Setzmaschinen Fabrik Ges.). Oct. 1, 1926. Keyboards for type-bar-making machines.-In keyboard-mechanism having rotating rollers F, Fig. 1, and cam-carrying yokes D provided with hook-shaped portions engaging a pivot-rod G, on to which the yokes are held down by spring- pressed pins in an overlying bar, the pins are arranged so that any one may be individually removed and replaced without distributing the others. The pins a are of flat form, and rest in slots b, i, Fig. 2, in flanges on a rail c, which is pivoted on the rod G, or otherwise detachably mounted. Springs f surround the pins, and engage lugs g at their lower ends. Lugs h limit the descent of the pins, and cause their upper ends to be held by the springs against the inner ends of the slots d. Enlargements i are provided to prevent the pins from slipping out of the slots or the slots may be closed. The pins may be individually removed when the rail c is tilted.
