Abstract
264,392. Standard Telephones & Cables, Ltd., (Western Electric Co., Inc.). July 7, 1926. Thermionic heterodyne and homodyne receivers.-In a wireless receiver of the supersonic heterodyne type the incoming signals are combined in a detector 3 with local oscillations from a source 7 so as to yield supersonic frequencies or frequency bands, two of which are combined in a second detector 9 to produce oscillations which when combined in a third detector 11 with oscillations of the frequency of the local source 7, and preferably obtained from that source, yield the signal. An intermediate frequency amplifier and a selective network 10 are connected between detectors 9 and 11 and a low frequency amplifier 15 may in addition be provided.
