Screw and like propellers.-A central hub E, Figs. 1 and 2, mounted upon a vertical axle i rotatable in bearings in an aircraft body H carries four blades a - - d and a cross-beam f at the two ends of which are mounted propellers g adapted to be swung through 90‹ in a horizontal plane. To permit of simultaneous adjustment of the pitch of the blades a - - d, these are each mounted on a central pivot and carry downwardly-extending arms terminating in segmental racks a<2>, Fig. 6, engaging pinions i<6> on the outer ends of shafts i<5>, Fig. 7 journaled in the base of the hub E. Worms i<4> at the inner ends of the shafts i<5> engage a worm on a rotatable sleeve which surrounds the main axle and terminates in a hand-wheel.
