Abstract

263,637. Skinnard, S. J. Jan. 20, 1926. Interconnecting guard with starting-gear. - A guard for the mixer trough B of a dough mixing machine, comprises a folding grid A hinged at C to the back of the trough B and having arms D projecting from the front of the grid into curved - stationary tracks E. A curved bar F secured to the sliding bar G controlling the driving belt or gears is adapted to overlap the grid A when the machine is in motion and to overlap one of the tracks E when the machine is stationary. The bar F thus prevents the machine from being set in motion when the grid is open and prevents the grid from being opened when the machine is in motion. The bar F may be held in position by a pin I. When the trough B is moved into the discharging position, the grid A moves clear from the trounh as shown in Fig. 3.
