Abstract

262,897. Walton, J., and Sutcliffe, A. Oct. 29, 1925. Pickers for looms for weaving jute &c., and of the type described in Specification 9788/14, are made so that the picker has two striking faces, each of which presents the face of the hide to the impact. The picker is made from a rectangular hide blank folded twice in relation to its length, the edge D of the second fold not extending quite to the first fold B. The hide is then folded at right angles to its length over a mandrel E with the edges D inside, and then pressed in a die and secured by rivets F &c., then the usual hole G is made at right angles to the spindle hole E<1>. A filling strip may be inserted, comprising a piece of hidefolded twice.
