Abstract

262,863. Dederich, W. Sept. 17, 1925. Addition to 237,435. Valves controlled by pilot or relay valves; closure members.- The valve described in the parent Specification is modified by arranging the auxiliary valve to control the flow from the steam chamber tc the balancing chamber ir more than one phase. The main valve 2 is coupled to a piston 10 and co-operates with a seat 15 arranged at the bottom of a recess so as to throttle the steam supply on its way to the valve closure. Steam is supplied to the chamber 9 at the back of the piston through pipes 6 chambers 5 and 12 and annular passage 8 and is controlled by a disc 13 on the actuating spindle co-operating firstly with the front edge of the chamber 12 and later with the bottom of the chamber. When opening the main valve, steam is exhausted from the chamber 9 through passage 16 under the control of the auxiliary valve 3.
