Axle-trucks and bogies.-In electric locomotives with geared axle-mounted motor i and one or more leading or trailing axles d, and with the supporting springs e of the axles d connected with the springs f of the driving axles c by equalizing levers, the motors are suspended on the side of the axles c further from the centre of the locomotive. If u is the "leverage ratio" between the springs of the trailing and driving axles, and r, s, h, and L are the distances denoted by these letters on the Figure, the construction is such that r 2uh - = --. If this relation is satisfied the pres- 3 L sure on the driving axles does not vary at starting.
