Abstract
261,365. Schulz, W. Nov. 11, 1925, [Convention date]. Apparatus for making filaments; ammoniacalcopper cellulose solutions, making filaments from. -When spinning filaments from ammoniacalcopper cellulose solutions &c. by the stretch-spinning process, the precipitating liquid is maintained under pressure in order to prevent the formation of gas bubbles due to the heating of the liquid. In one construction of apparatus, the precipitating liquid is fed from a tank 1 through a large-diameter pipe 2 provided near the funnel 3 with a heating coil 9; the outlet from the funnel consists of a tube 4 of small diameter, this construction in conjunction with the height of the tank 1 producing the required pressure in the funnel. Alternatively, the pressure may be obtained by putting the liquid in the tank under air pressure; or a compression pump may be employed. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers to the application of the process to the spinning of viscous liquids in which the coagulating-liquid is kept in motion for the purpose of conveying and stretching the filaments. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
