Fastenings for boxes.-The connection between the walls of a knock-down box for letter files &c. consists of conical pins on the edges of one wall engaging holes in another wall and secured by metal caps having conical bores which are pushed over the pins and frictionally engage the holes. As shown, the box consists of two separate side walls 5 and integral bottom, top, and end walls 1, 2, 3, the top and bottom edges of the walls 5 being provided with conical pins 6 which engage holes 8 in the top and bottom are secured by the caps 9; the pins may be attached to the walls by perforated strips 7 tacked thereto; the walls 1, 2, 3 may be separate and connected by tape hinges &c. In a modification, the top, bottom, and side walls of the box are in the form of a collapsable tube and the ends are hinged to the bottom and carry the pins along their top edges.
