Abstract
260,491. Weston, H. L., Conkle, R. H., and Clay, W. F. April 8, 1926. Metal pipes and tubes.-Brass condenser-tubes are protected from corrosion &c. by casting a lining of incorrodible alloy therein. The tube is cleaned with killed spirit and rotated over a row of gas flames until about 212‹ F. An alloy of equal parts by weight of tin, lead, and zinc is then poured into one end of the tube and the rotation is increased to 1200 r.p.m. While still rotating, a wiper saturated in oil is inserted into the tube and reciprocated therein, the heat being, at the same time, cut off.
