Abstract

488,121. Making sheet glass. UNION DES VERRERIES MECANIQUES BELGES SOC. ANON. Feb. 17, 1937, No. 4782. Convention date, Feb. 17, 1936. [Class 56] A drawing-block, such as a " debiteuse " or a submerged bar, for use in drawing sheet glass is made of metal, and is characterized by the fact that the metal is so selected or treated that it resists corrosion by the glass or by the effect of heat. The block may be made of non-corroding steel, or of metal which is coated with a protective layer by plating with nickel or chromium, by cementation or by enamelling. British Specification 225,708, [Class 56], is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to U.S.A. Specification 1,872,696.
