Addition to 251,578. 3-Iodopyridine is prepared by diazotizing 3- aminopyridine and reacting thereon with an iodizing agent, such as alkali iodide. The product possesses therapeutic properties. An example is given. 3-Aminopyridine is obtained by reduction of 3- nitropyridine with iron and acid.
