Abstract

259,583. Dietze, L., and Dietze, M., (trading as Dietze & Sohn, L.), and H÷hle, M. Oct. 6, 1926. Clamps.-The rope b is passed round the eye a and clamped in position for splicing between lower pivoted jaws d, e and an upper screw down jaw c which is slotted at the sides to fit over and be guided by the side levers. The jaws d, e are adjusted to the size of eye by screwing the nut o which operates the levers h pivoted on a cross bar fixed to the screw g. The jaw c is operated by the threaded spindle f working inside the spindle g. The clamp may be secured in a vice by a projection q on the cross bar k or it may have an extension r pivoted on an arcuate segment s secured to an angle iron w which is gripped in a vice, the clamp can then be secured at any angle by pinning the part r to any hole in the segments.
