Abstract
258,231. Delale, E. Sept. 12, 1925, [Convention date]. Hoods.-Vehicles provided with rigid side walls are adapted to be covered with a flexible hood covering which by resilient means is caused to assume a convex form. As shown in Figs..1 and 2, the cover 1 of flexible material is provided at intervals with transverse resilient blades 2 which rest on the upper portions 3 of the side walls, the cover being secured to the side walls by fastenings 4, 6 and being provided with a weather valance 7. Rods 8 arranged at each side are adapted to press the transverse blades 2 upwards by means of resilient arms 9 pivoted so that the rods 8 can be housed along the side walls when not in use. Longitudinal blades 13, Fig. 4, may replace the resilient arms 9 and rods 8, or in another form, grooves cut in the side walls are engaged by the transverse blades 2 in such a way that they are necessarily curved. The hood is applicable for boats.
