Abstract

256,380. Boyd, R. P., and Bradley, T. July 7, 1925. Coat hangers.-A suspension hook 4 is conrected to the wooden bar 5 of a garment hanger by forming in the shank of the hook circumferential grooves 4a which form shoulders 4b and truncated conical surfaces. A hole 5a is bored in the wood of a diameter rather less than that of the hook shank, and the latter is then forced into the hole, which may have been moistened. The resilience of the wood causes it to enter and fill the circumferential grooves, anchoring the shank in the wood. This method of connection allows rotation of the hook without axial movement.
