Abstract

256,328. Martin, A. J., and Furderer, E. R. May 7, 1925. Electromagnetic current meters of the moving- iron type have the spindle formed in part of, or carrying or surrounded by, very soft iron of low coercive force and of higher retentivity than that of the moving iron, both irons being of low coercive force and hysteresis. Hysteresis errors are thereby eliminated. The invention is shown applied to the instrument described in Specification 237,036. The spindle 3 is surrounded bv soft iron 5 and carries the moving iron 7 by means of lugs 8. The fixed iron 1 is mounted within a tube 2, and is preferably of lower hysteresis value than either of the other two irons.
