Optical-projection apparatus.- To enable a defective lamp to be replaced readily and accurately by a new one, the lamp and a reflector are adjustably mounted on a carrier which occupies a predetermined position in the lantern and is readily removable therefrom. As shown, a carrier 1 supports a reflector 4 and a lamp 41 which may be adjusted to and from the reflector 4, and laterally with respect thereto, on a slide 18 which is vertically adjustable on the carrier. The lamp 41 has a screwed cap, and the terminal 31 engaging its end contact is vertically adjustable by means of screws 33 so that a desired position of the lamp filaments, obtained by rotating the lamp, and proper contact may be simultaneously obtained. The terminal 31 is connected by flexible conductor 34 to a contact blade 45 mounted on the carrier 1, and the lamp holder is electrically connected to a contact blade 13 through the slide 18. The carrier has flanges 3 on limbs 2 which engage under flanges 42 along the edges of a slot in the base of the lamp house, Fig. 2, and permit the carrier to be slidden to and from the condenser lens 36; the ends of the slots may form positioning means for the carrier. The contact blades 13, 45 engage spring contacts 39, 40 on terminal blocks 43, 44 secured to the side of the lamp house.
