Abstract
255,782. Sanders, J. B. April 19, 1926. Bottles, non-refillable.-A fitting for a non-refillable bottle comprises a glass or earthenware member with a liquid outlet passage c, Fig. 1, comprising two vertical arms, one communicating with the interior of the bottle and the other with a cavity d. The cavity opens into an outlet passage e, Fig. 2, leading to the outlet f. The lower end of the passage e opens into a sump g below the cavity. An air inlet connects the sump g with the exterior, and an air passage i connects the cavity d with an air lock j. In use, the outer stopper k is removed and, on tilting the bottle, the liquid escapes through the passages c, cavity d and passage e to the outlet f. Air enters to the sump g by the air inlet and passes by the passage e to the cavity d and thence by the passages i to the air lock j. The fittings may be secured to the neck of the bottle by an aluminium capsule a.
