Movable-abutment type. - In screw pumps having two parallel inter-engaging right and lefthand screws, the thread is symmetrical about a line perpendicular to the shaft axis and has a surface comprising outer convex and inner concave faces connected by a straight or curved flank, the line connecting the points where the generating line meets the outer and inner cylindrical surfaces of the screw making an angle with the shaft centre-line, of between 30‹ and 75‹.
