Abstract

253,784. Atwood, H. N. Oct. 28, 1925. Laminated wood. - A composite laminated block, suitable for making parts of wheels or other articles, is obtained by pressing together, under heat, layers of uncured rubber 5 alternating with layers of veneer 1, from which the sap and moisture have previously been removed. This prior operation is performed by pressing the freshly-cut veneer between perforated plates 3 whilst subjecting it first to the action of steam and afterwards of a partial vacuum.
