Abstract
253,300. Molins, W. E. April 22,1925. Packeting cigarettes and like articles in receptacles.-Relates to apparatus, for packeting cigarettes and similarly shaped articles, particularly of the type shown in Specifications 216,326 and 238,835. The cigarettes fall from vibrating vanes 1, Fig. 1, to a table 2 from which they are removed to the left by bars 3 on chains 4. A gate 5 is mounted at the forward end of the vanes carrying a brush holder 6 with brushes 7, which may be vibrated. The ends of the brushes are arranged so as to clear one row of cigarettes, but if an obstruction 10, Fig. 4, is present beneath a cigarette, the brush will yield sufficiently to allow its passage and to prevent damage. Spring steel, rubber, or other flexible fingers may replace the brushes.
