Abstract

237,326. Brooks & Doxey (1920), Ltd., and Newell, S. April 11, 1924. Feeding openers &c.-In a pneumatic conveyer for cotton &c., plates or grids are mounted in a dust box so that they are capable of oscillation by air passing through the conveyer. As shown, toothed racks 3, 4 within the dust-box are notched to support division plates 6, which are formed with arms resting in the notches. The passage of air and cotton through the dust-box causes the plates to swing gently so that the dust freed from the cotton passes through the plates without choking them. The floor is hinged and provided with a catch, for removal of dust. A handhole is provided on the cover.
