Abstract
253,084. Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken. June 8, 1925, [Convention dale]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Vacuum tubes.-An electrode, such as a grid or anode, consisting of a conductor 11 bent into a helix or zig-zag, is strengthened by attachment to a conductive rod or backbone 16 which has a considerably higher specific resistance than the conductor itself. The bent conductor may be of nickel and the rod 16 of constantan. During exhaustion of the valve, such an electrode may be heated by current passed along it from leading-in wires 14, 15. Each turn of the conductor 11 may be welded to the rod 16. When there are two or more grids, each of them may be constructed as described.
