Gas meters.-The membrane or membranes 1 of a dry gas meter are bound to grooved rings 3 which fit into rims 4 on the measuring-chamber so as to be easily interchangeable. Fig. 1 shows one form of meter in which the engaging portions of the ring 3 and rims 4 are plain, the joint being completed by aid of the free edge of the membrane. In a modification, the rim 4 is provided with an annular groove in which the edge of the membrane may be secured. Fig. 2 shows another form in which the lower edge of the ring 3 is rounded and slit so as to engage in a bulged portion 5 of the rim 4.
