Abstract

251,146. Starley, W. A. July 21, 1925. Spring wheels. - Spaced pairs of rubber &c. blocks j, l are secured between brackets f, h secured to the inner and outer rims a, d respectively. The brackets and blocks are formed with complementary wedge surfaces, and by means of the clamping-jaws f<4>, f<5> and h<4>, h<5> the blocks j, l are caused to act in both compression and tension. The blocks are pulled tightly into the brackets by means of transverse bolts m having taper heads m<2> and fitted with coned washers m<3>.
