Abstract

250,676. Elcock, C. E., and Sutcliffe, F. Jan. 16, 1925. Slabs; building blocks, special shapes of.-Flanged slabs 10 are provided with keyways 13 and holes in the flanges, such holes being for the reception of bolts, pins, or other securing members which extend approximately perpendicular to the abutting faces of the flanges 11. The flanges 11 may be so arranged as to provide a cellular formation on the inner sides of the slabs. Foundation blocks 50, Fig. 5, are stepped at 51 to receive the slabs 10 and are provided with apertures 52 for the reception of a concrete filling. Adjacent foundation blocks are connected together by bolts or pins extending through the end walls of the blocks. A fireplace slab, adapted to fit in the hollow interior of a building slab, is provided with a flue discharging into the said hollow interior, and parts of the cross flanges of the main slab are cut away to form a flue.
